Abstract
741,114. Centrifugal separators. NAYLOR, T. R. June 23, 1954 [June 25, 1953], No. 17637/53. Class 23. A hydro - cyclone is constructed of at least two parts, the joints between adjacent parts having co-operating ground surfaces. As shown the hydro-cyclone comprises a glass body 1 having a tangential inlet 5, a glass vortex finder part 2a having a ground surface which cooperates with a ground internal surface of the part 8 of the body in the manner of a stopper, and a glass nozzle 3a having a ground rim 11 cooperating with a ground annular surface at the bottom of the body. The vortex finder, body, and nozzle are held together by springs 15, 18 engaging hooks 13, 14, 16, 17. The construction facilitates the fitting of vortex finders and nozzles of different sizes. Dimensions of the hydrocyclone are given.
