Abstract

740,204. Pictures. MICHEL, LES FILS DE V. Jan. 29, 1954, No. 2821/54. Class 11 A method for obtaining transparent coloured pictures consists in printing the whole of the picture desired on two sheets of transparent plastic material and in superposing in register the two images thus obtained, the assembly thus obtained being made light-diffusing by any suitable means. The printing of the picture may be obtained by typographic, offset or photo-engraving printing. The plastic material used as a support for the pictures may be a cellulosic material such as cellulose di- or tri-acetate, or an acrylic or vinylic polymer. The printed sheets may be fixed together by gluing at the edges, framing, or clamping between glass. Further unprinted sheets may be used as supports for the printed sheets. The assembly is rendered opaque either by frosting one or all the sheets on one of their faces or by the application of a varnish or by inserting an opaque material in the back of the support, or by printing a shade on the back side of at least one of the supports.
