Abstract
740,061. Visual landing aids for aircraft. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GES. April 13, 1954 [April 20. 1953], No. 10873/54. Class 118(2) A system for blind-landing of aircraft comprises lighting the line of approach by invisible light, preferably infra-red, and making this visible to the pilot by means of an electronic image converter. Cross wires corresponding to the axes of the aircraft are provided on the luminous screen of the image converter to assist the pilot in positioning the aircraft. The radiators of invisible light are combined with the visible lighting equipment arranged in accordance with international regulations.
