Abstract

1,131,535. Towed aircraft. DORNIER SYSTEM G.m.b.H. 14 July, 1967 [3 Sept., 1966], No. 32572/67. Heading B7W. [Also in Division G2] In aerial photography a camera carried by one aircraft is synchronized with a flashlight device carried by a second aircraft, which may be a flying device towed by the first aircraft. The synchronization may be by photo-electric means or by means of a circuit incorporated in the tow rope. The flashlight may be of the electronic type, and power may be supplied by a ram air turbine on the towed aircraft. Two towed flying devices may be employed, thereby enabling either the intensity or the frequency of the flashes to be doubled. The towed devices may be mounted below the wings of the first aircraft and run out by winches when required for use.
