738,933. Counting-apparatus. ESSO RESEARCH & ENGINEERING CO., [formerly STANDARD OIL DEVELOPMENT CO.]. Oct. 12, 1953 [Oct. 31, 1952], No. 27967/53. Class 106 (1). Apparatus for measuring the components of a liquid of fixed composition comprises a meter through which the liquid is passed and which is connected to counters corresponding to the components so as to operate them in the appropriate proportions. A mixture C of two components A, B is passed through a meter 2. The meter is connected through gearing 5 to counters 7 and 8 which register the quantity of the components A and B respectively. Further quantities of the liquid A may be passed through a meter 1, the output of which may be combined with the " A " output of the gearing 5 in a suitable device 4. The shafts driving the counters 7, 8 may also be connected to a summing device 10 driving a counter 12 which registers the total amount of liquid and through respective cost calculating mechanisms 11, 13 to a total cost counter 14. In a modification, provision is made for a third component.
