A bullet for infantry weapons has a core 1 of light metal or other material of low density with an outer casing 2 of heavy metal embedded in a peripheral recess in the core between shoulders 3, 4 which prevent axial displacement of the casing. The thickness of the casing 2 is tapered towards the forward end of the bullet.
