Abstract

Containers 48 are coated internally <PICT:0737788/III/1> and subsequently heat-treated by being mounted on conveyer flights 35 supporting them at spaced intervals and having the coating material projected onto the inside of the container by nozzles 80 p at the top of standpipes 79. The containers are rotated by an electric motor 87 through drivers 92. The containers are fluxed from a standpipe carrying a nozzle 74, then pass to the coating nozzle, and finally through a door 54 to the heat-treating zone where a stress-relief at 600 DEG F. is carried out. The nozzles are carried by a lower elevator powered by pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders 65 (only one shown). The upper elevator is powered by similar cylinders 85 and carries the rotating means 87, 92. Both elevators, the spraying means and the conveyer are all actuated by electrical control means. Flags 132 are provided at the loading end of the machine and sense the presence of a container at each station. Unless all stations are filled the apparatus will not function.
