Abstract

A soil regenerator or fertilizer is prepared by separately pressing the paunches of ruminants and green vegetation to obtain from each a solid and a liquid portion, combining the solids from the paunches and the vegetation with phosphates, adding the liquid contents from the paunches and vegetation together with liquid manure and/or faecal matter to the mixture which ferments, cooling the mixture to 85-100 DEG F. and inoculating it with one or more microbic cultures selected from stocks which are fixers of nitrogen (azobacteria, clostridia), oxidizers of ammonia (nitrous and nitric ferments) and cellulose ferments (cellulolytics, moulds and actinomycetes), and also with elements such as B, Cd, Ca, Co, Fe, Mg, Mn, Mo, P, K, Si, S, Ti, W, Zn, in colloidal condition. Additional constituents may be chopped straw, kitchen refuse, earthworms or eggs thereof, starch, glucose, gums and glycerine, and calcium and manganese carbonates. The fertilizer is preferably prepared in stages, a part of the finished product of one stage being mixed with the dry constituents of the next. A detailed example is given.
