736,625. Light-refracting bowls. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and MOUNSDON, M. H. March 17, 1954 [April 23, 1953], No. 11281/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 75 (2). [Also in Group XXIII] The invention consists in a bowl refractor and a method of making it, the bowl having prisms on its inner surface in the form of a screw-thread about its axis ; and in the method an inner moulding tool is provided with a screw-thread arranged to form the prisms during the moulding, the tool being withdrawn from the bowl after the moulding by at least a preliminary unscrewing action. The screw-thread may be continuous or interrupted but its pitch is constant. The angle of the working face of the prisms may change continuously or it may be fixed for one or more turns and then change abruptly for the next turn or turns.
