Abstract

Dentures and dental instruments are cleaned by treating them with an acid cleaning agent containing thio-urea or a derivative thereof. The thio-urea or derivative causes the dissolution of sulphur compounds in the usual tartar film on the dentures &c., the acid present dissolving the remainder of the film. The articles may be dipped in a solution of the agent or the agent may be applied thereto in the form of a solution, a viscous mass, a powder, or a paste. The cleaning agent specified comprises an aqueous solution of tartaric acid. The derivatives of thiourea specified comprise allyl and acetyl thiourea.ALSO:Dental instruments are cleaned by treating them with an acid cleaning agent containing thio-urea or a derivative thereof. The articles may be dipped in a solution of the agent or the agent may be applied thereto in the form of a solution, a viscous mass, a powder, or a paste. The cleaning agent specified comprises an aqueous solution of tartaric acid. The derivatives of thiourea specified comprise allyl and acetyl thiourea.
