734,825. Jointing strips for building. WEYETABLISSEMENT. Sept. 29, 1953 [Nov. 6, 1952; July 16, 1953], No. 26782/53. Class 20 (4). An artificial resin jointing strip for jointing of highly stressed building strips comprises a centrallyarranged reinforcing portion 1 comprising longitudinally extending ribs and a central flexible tube 11 having its largest cross-sectional dimension perpendicular to the strip, the ribs and tube together forming a distendable portion to accommodate movements of the members to be packed, and parts 3 of the strip extending either side of the distendable portion 1 which are formed with longitudinal corrugations 4, the parts 3 forming jointing portions, and the transition portion between the distendable portion 1 and the jointing portions 3 being provided with anchoring ridges 5. The anchoring ridges may be solid and of circular or rectangular cross-section or, as shown, they may be in the form of flexible tubes and filled with a filler such as a cement emulsion. The corrugations 4 may be circular, as shown, or rectangular. Specification 646,268 is referred to.
