Abstract

733,810. Continuous feed aeronautical cameras. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP OPTISCHE INDUSTRIE DE OUDE DELFT. Dec. 19, 1952 [Dec. 19, 1951], No. 32291/52. Classes 97 (1), 98 (1) and 98 (2). In a continuous feed camera, a plane mirror in the path of rays in front of the objective is rotatable or oscillatable about an axis in or parallel to its own plane and means are provided by which film-feeding mechanism and mechanism for rotating and oscillating the mirror are coupled so that the relation between film speed and angular speed of the mirror can be adjusted to different values so that a second movement in the same or the opposite direction can be superimposed on the movement of the image in the focal plane of the camera which results from the relative motion of camera and object, e.g. in aeronautical photography, the film speed itself being adjustable. Preferably the axis of rotation or oscillation of the plane mirror 16 is perpendicular to the optical axis of the objective 17 and is parallel to the focal plane exposure slit 18. The mirror may be subjected to a saw-tooth oscillation so that at least a part of the field of view of each photograph can be repeatedly traversed by the scanning mirror.
