Abstract

733,193. Adjusting radio apparatus. AHAD, H. ABDUL-. Oct. 20, 1953 [Oct. 31, 1952], No. 27377/52. Class 40 (5). In a radio receiver comprising a tuning condenser 10, coarse tuning of the condenser is effected by rotating a toothed wheel 7 which is engaged by a pawl 5 while fine tuning within the range selected by the wheel 7 is effected by rotating a wheel 1 which operates through gearing 3, 4 to move the pawl 5 and thus effect movement of the toothed wheel 7 over a small continuous arc. The toothed wheel 7 is coupled to the condenser 10 through cord 17 and a further wheel 9. Similarly wheel 1 is coupled to the gear wheel 3 through a cord and a wheel 2, the cord also carrying a pointer 14. The dial comprises sixteen parallel scales, one for each setting of the wheel 7, the movement of the pointer from one side to the other corresponding to the fine tuning range at each setting of the toothed wheel 7.
