Abstract
The invention comprises dihydrazinoheterocyclic compounds obtainable by the action of 3 mols. of hydrazine on an o-dinitrile of a heterocyclic compound. In an example pyridine 2 : 3-dinitrile reacts with hydrazine hydrate in dioxan to give 1 : 4-dihydrazino-azaphthalazine of the formula <FORM:0732521/IV (b)/1> which may be converted into a dihydrochloride. A similar product may be obtained from pyridine 3 : 4-dinitrile; and quinaldine 3:4-dinitrile and quinoxaline 2 : 3-dinitrile are also specified as starting materials.
