730,661. Vehicle windscreens. MULLINERS, Ltd. Sept. 28, 1953 [Sept. 27, 1952], No. 24276/52. Class 20 (3). In a removable windscreen 10, foot members 12 on pillars 9 engage and cover seating members 13 permanently secured to a vehicle body 11, each foot member being keyed to its seating member by a rib on one member engaging a groove on the other and releasable locking means 19 being provided. In the form shown the groove 16 is on the foot member and the rib 15 is on the seating member. Preferably the groove is straight and closed at one end and the rib is engageable with it by an axial sliding movement. Complete engagement may only be effected at the end of the sliding movement by arranging that the foot members are inclined towards one another by the same amount as the seating members or that all the members are appropriately tapered. The ribs and grooves may be of interlocking cross-section, in which case they must either all be parallel to one another or if inclined, they must be tapered. A rubber protector 23 may be provided and the releasable locking means may be " Dzus " (Registered Trade Mark) fasteners.
