Abstract

729,931. Measuring short time intervals electrically. CINEMA-TELEVISION, Ltd. July 15, 1953 [July 17, 1952], No. 18077/52. Class 40 (1). Apparatus for measuring the time interval between two electric signals comprises a generator 2 (Fig. 1) producing a rectangular pulse when the first signal is applied at terminal 1, and a second generator 4 producing a pulse of short duration when the second signal is applied at terminal 3. The pulse from generator 2 is fed into a delay line 5 with taps at regular intervals, feeding into trigger circuits 6-15, and the pulse from generator 4 is fed into all the trigger circuits in parallel, whereby that trigger circuit in which the two pulses coincide lights a lamp 16 indicating the time interval between the two signals. In a modification (Fig. 2) only four trigger circuits 17-20 are used, connected to the delay line 5 in combination, so that a combination of lighted lamps 21 indicates the time interval.
