A non-drip spout for vessels such as bottles, tea and coffee pots, jugs, decanters, sauceboats, oil, paraffin or petrol cans made of glass, plastics porcelain, earthenware or any other suitable material has means for producing capillary suction comprising a capillary channel extending in the direction of flow said channel ending in its full depth where the bottom surface of the channel merges with a surface extending towards the body of the vessel which surface merges with a further substantially upwardly projecting surface. A bottle 1 has a spout u with a capillary channel s ending in its full depth at a surface v which merges at b into a further surface r. The channel s is arranged to have greater capacity on the inside of the mouth than in the outwardly, downwardly projecting portion.
