Abstract
728,873. Endless conveyers. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. May 29, 1953 [July 26, 1952], No. 14976/53. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer for baking-ovens including spaced conveyer elements between which trays are pivoted, each tray includes a platform 25 pivoted at its forward end 31 to a tray frame itself pivoted between the conveyer elements, means on the tray frame engage a stationary track for maintaining the tray horizontal, means is provided for normally supporting the rear end of the platform, while further means is provided for raising the platform relative to the tray frame to place its rear end at least on a level with the back of the tray frame, e.g. during dumping of the tray. As shown, the forward end 31 of platform 25 is hinged to a cross member 21 which together with side members 17 and a back member 19 forms the tray frame. The conveyer elements are chains 7 provided with guide rollers 9, some of the spindles 33 of which are extended inwardly to support the forward parts of the tray frames while arms 44 are secured on their outward extensions. Rollers 47 on arms 44 engage the guide track 49 for the rollers 9 thus maintaining the tray frames horizontal. A ledge 23 on the back 19 of each tray frame supports the rear end of the platform 25, which consists of a grating, normally in horizontal position for the reception of loaves to be baked. Adjustment of the tray frames to ensure they are horizontal is provided by the connection of the inward extension of each spindle 33 by a squared end to a levelling bar 37 within the tray frame, set screws 41 provided in threaded lugs 39 of the bar 37 co-operating with brackets 43 on the side members 17. For dumping the tray rearwards it is necessary to raise the platform 25 so that its rear end is at least level with the top of the back 19. Thus a tubular member 61 is located transversely in the tray frame below the platform 25 which member has at its ends stubshafts slidable vertically in slots 53 in the side members 17 and equipped externally with rollers 57 which also run on the guide tracks 49. At the dumping station each track 49 is cut away so that it supports only the rollers 9, while two cam tracks 65, 67 which bridge the opening respectively support the rollers 57, 47 such that roller 47 falls more than roller 57, whereby the tubular member 61 is raised relative to the tray frame to lift the rear portion of platform 25 and so allow unobstructed dumping on to a receiving conveyer 81. Specification 714,384 is referred to.
