Abstract
728,268. Code telegraphy. GRETENER, E. April 2, 1953 [April 8, 1952], No. 9268/53. Addition to 680,500. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (3). The device according to the parent Specification for generating positive and negative polarity imputer combinations which change in a complex manner, more particularly for enciphering purposes, is modified by the omission of the change-over contacts connected between the cascade or cascades of commutator switches and the output leads. As an alternative to the use of the rotary distributer disclosed in the parent Specification, the output leads may be connected to the key-actuated contacts of teletypewriter in such manner that the current steps produced depend both on the particular key operated and the polarities of the leads of the enciphering device. The output leads may also be brought out through detachable connections to permit them to be permuted manually. Reference is also made to automatic permutation by means of switches comprising a number of brushes sliding on a collectors having an equal number of segments.
