To lap-joint kinematograph films the imagebearing layer is removed from one film and one or both films are perforated along the joint so that on applying adhesive between the bared front face of the support of the one film and the rear face of the support of the other film and pressing both films together, adhesive is squeezed through the perforations so as to key the films together on setting. If both films are perforated, the perforations are preferably located out of register in the joint which may be made either straight across the films or at an angle to their lengths.
