727,636. Weighing-apparatus. STUBE, R. June 3, 1953 [June 9, 1952], No. 15361/53. Class 143. [Also in Group XXII] Weighing machines are made with a box type casing 3 formed by drawing or pressing a sheet metal blank into a box form, then cutting out the bottom so as to leave inwardly bent flaps 5, 8 on which the weighing mechanism may be mounted, and one or more stiffening corrugated cross members 4. The blank also may be contoured so that in a subsequent operation feet 2 and a decorative border are formed. The main flaps 5 may then also be bent down alongside and spot welded at 9 to the wall of the casing to further strengthen it.
