Abstract
726,266. Spark apparatus. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. May 13, 1953 [May 16, 1952], No. 13426/53. Class 39 (1). An adjustable spark gap comprises a fixed electrode 11, attached by a spacer 9 to a metal plate 5 carrying an exhaust tube 7, and a movable electrode 21 attached by a spacer 19 to a metal diaphragm 17 which together with a flanged cylindrical member 13, a glass cylinder 1 and the plate 5 forms the envelope, which is filled with air or other gas. Adjustment is effected by applying a wrench to the hexagonal portion 35 of a member 29 which extends through an aperture in a bridge 27 and is threaded on a shank 25 carried by a member 23 attached to the diaphragm 17. After adjustment the member 29 is locked against the bridge 27 by a nut 33.
