Abstract
726,151. Gas washers. DIDIER-KOGAGHINSELMANN KOKSOFENBAU UND GASVERWENTUNG AKT.-GES. Aug. 21, 1953, No. 23180/53. Class 55 (2). The outlets from rotary radial distribution troughs in vertical gas washers are so graded as to number or size in relation to the radial distance from the distributer axis that for a given speed the quantity of liquid delivered per unit area of packing is constant over the whole surface. A rotary distributer for each of these filler packings 2 of a column 1 comprises four opentopped radial troughs 8 mounted on a flange 7 secured to a shaft 3 electrically driven through gearing at the base. Outlet pipes 12 protruding vertically through the bottom of the troughs have detachable caps 14 with a central aperture through which liquid falls on to baffle plates 18 mounted an adjustable distance beneath the troughs. Notches 19 along the upper edges of the troughs permit excess liquid to overflow. The outlets 12 and notches 19 near the outer end of the troughs are closer together and the apertures 15 and notches 19 may increase in size outwardly. A baffle wall 21 collects liquid from an upper packing and feeds it to a central pipe leading to the lower distributer troughs, screened apertures 22 allowing gas to ascend.
