A dummy head for displaying millinery, jewellery, &c. or for practice by student hairdressers, comprises a piece of lace or mesh material secured by its edges over the crown area of a block representing the crown and face of a head and natural or artificial hair secured to the lace by a knotting needle. A wooden block covered with cork and hessian and shaped to represent a head and the basic features of a face is covered with silk and the edge of a piece of lace, to which natural or artificial hair fibres are secured, is stitched to the hair line.
