725,321. Frequency measurement. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Feb. 24, 1953 [Feb. 25, 1952], No. 5151/53. Class 37. In a device for supervising the frequencies of a multi-channel system in which the carriers are harmonics of a standard frequency but are not all derived from a common standard frequency oscillator, the output of a harmonic generator HG fed from a standard frequency generator is amplified in a linear amplifier F with one of the carrier currents to be supervised. The output of this amplifier is applied to a biased rectifier circuit (Fig. 1) in which the condenser C bypasses the HF components giving a demodulated signal across R at the beat frequency given by the carrier to be supervised and the harmonic from the standard oscillator nearest to it in frequency, any weak signal having been blocked by the bias voltage which also increases audibility of the beat frequency. The beat frequency is measured in a frequency meter fed by a low-frequency amplifier or aurally observed through a speaker.
