A luggage-carrier for use on bicycles consists of a tubular frame comprised of two U-shaped members 1, 2, the shanks of the member 2 being continued as cylindrical piston rods 5 which are telescopically received in the shanks of the member 1 and are axially displaceable by a spring 8, each rod 5 being provided with a resiliently mounted pawl 12 capable of engaging, in order to arrest the spring loaded frame member 2, in slots 13 arranged consecutively in a row in the wall of the member 1. Each frame member 1, 2 is provided with a clamping stirrup for holding the luggage securely.
