Class 39 (3) An electrically-heated paint remover comprises a hollow open-fronted body 10 containing two pencil type heating elements 12, the inner surface 11 of the body being 'highly polished to act as a -reflector. Spacing members 23 formed of wire or pieces of rod act as skids and ensure that the elements 12 are maintained at the most effective distance from the surface being treated. A wire mesh guard 26 prevents pieces of burnt paint from fouling the elements, and a handle 15 carries the supply cable 19.
