Abstract

Apparatus for painting long circular objects such as flag poles and lamp posts, comprises a circular horizontal rod carrying a series of pinions and brush or pad wheels, the pinions serving to rotate the wheels which grip tightly against the circular object and so cause the apparatus to move up or down its length, paint being supplied to the wheels from a container having a series of closable holes in its base, and the pinions are rotated by gearing operated through a chain. The apparatus is so constructed that certain parts can be removed to allow it to be put in position, and <PICT:0659092/III/1> then replaced. Fig. 6, in which the wheels are 2, the pinions 8, the chain 19, 20 and the circular object 5, illustrates the invention.
