Abstract

To ensure starting under adverse ambient conditions, a resistance-heated bimetal switch having its heater 18 and contacts 17 connected in series with the glow-starter switch 16 and resistor 15 is added to the starting circuit of the discharge lamp circuit arrangement of the parent Specification. A radio interference suppression condenser 20, 19 shunting each respective switch, or a single condenser shunting both switches, may be provided for facilitating starting, an earthed metallic starting-strip may be provided.
