Abstract

A priming coat for application between a cellulosic film and a pressure-sensitive adhesive comprises a mixture of polymers of which one is natural rubber and an organic polyisocyanate. The rubber may be raw or reclaimed. Suitable polymers to be used in admixture with the natural rubber may be rubbery, e.g. modified natural rubbers or synthetic rubbers, such as polyvinylisobutyl ether or polyisobutylene, or non-rubbery, e.g. cyclized or isomerized rubber, chlorinated rubber, polystyrene, or styrene-butadiene copolymer. The rubber and polymer or polymers are dissolved in a common solvent, e.g. toluene, for application.
