721,372. Press-button retractive switches. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., HARWOOD, A. E. J., and JENKINS, G. H. March 20, 1953 [March 20, 1952], No. 7231/52. Class 38 (5). A push button retractive switch of the kind in which the return movement of an operating member 12 associated with circuit controlling means-such as contacts 4, 6, 13-to a normal position is arranged to be frictionally, retarded after the push-button 2 has been released comprises an axially movable but non-rotatable operating shaft 12 carrying a contact disc 13 and a retarding element 17 arranged to be rotated by the screw like portion 15 of the operating shaft 12 during at least a part of the return movement of the shaft, the element 17 bearing against a felt friction disc 19 so as to retard the return movement of the shaft.
