721,331. Basting-appliances; devices for supporting viands while cooking. GREENWOOD, R. Sept. 28, 1953 [Oct. 1, 1952], No. 24543/52. Class 28 (1). A device for roasting meat comprises a perforated plate A with a centre prong b which is inserted in the meat J. The device may either be placed in the bottom of a roasting tin and the meat impaled on the prong or the prong may be inserted into the top of the meat and the basting fat placed on the plate. Preferably the plate A is curved. The prong b is secured to the plate A by screwing it into a nut e or by brazing, riveting or welding or it may be pressed therefrom.
