Abstract

The cutting edges of razors, safety razor blades, scissors, microtome knives, surgical scalpels &c. have deposited thereon a microscopically thin layer of graphite which is stated to increase cutting efficiency. One method of depositing the layer comprises applying a colloidal suspension of graphite in a volatile oil, by spraying, dipping &c. and evaporating the solvent under vacuum.ALSO:The cutting edges of surgical scalpels &c. have deposited thereon a microscopically thin layer of graphite which is stated to increase cutting efficiency.
