718,658. Gangways. COLLINGRIDGE, Ltd., B. F. May 19, 1953 [July 10, 1952], No. 17411/52. Class 113(1) In a stairway or ramp A the inclination of which is hydraulically or mechanically adjustable (e.g. by a ram G) having an end pivoted at B on a supporting framework C (which may be mounted on wheels) and adapted to be raised or lowered by means of an elevating arm E also pivoted on the framework and provided with a pinion F engaging a rack D mounted adjacent the free end of the ramp, the pinion is maintained in mesh with the racks by means of a housing I movable on guides along the rack and is prevented from unintentional movement by a pawl L mounted in the housing and spring pressed into engagement with the pinion.
