Abstract

716,766. Buttons. KIRNBAUER. K, Nov. 19, 1952 [Feb. 19, 1952], No. 29265/52. Class 43 A two-part button which can be attached to fabric without sewing comprises an annulus 1 and a plate 3 over which the fabric 5 is lapped and which is of such size that with the overlying fabric it can be passed edgewise through the aperture but when turned to lie parallel with the annulus it cannot be retracted through the aperture. As shown, the circular aperture of the annulus 1 is formed with a notch 4 or a pair of diametrically disposed notches to enable the plate 3 with the covering fabric to slide edgewise through the aperture. The dished annulus is formed with a recess 6 along the edge of its aperture to receive the edge of the plate 3. The plate may be formed with a small aperture for impaling the plate on the end of a tool to facilitate attachment of the button to the fabric.
