Abstract

716,730. Valves; regulating; ignition. USTAV MOTOROVYCH VOZIDEL, BOTTGER, J., and KOPLIK, O. Jan. 2, 1952, No. 193/52. Classes 7(4) and 7(6) A fuel injection device and ignition distributer for internalcombustion engines, particularly injecting light fuel in Ottocycle engines, comprises a fuel distributer supplied with fuel by a fuel pump and delivering fuel in measured quantities to the nozzles of the engine, a rotary member within the f u e l distributer adapted to be rotated for distributing the fuel to the individual nozzles and to be shifted in an axial direction for varying the time interval during which the injection takes place, an electric ignition distributer with a rotary member supplying energy to the sparking plugs of the engine and coupling means for coupling a driving shaft with the shaft of the rotary fuel distributer 2 is driven from the upper end rotary fuel distributer with the shaft of the ignition distributer, the couplings being adapted to allow an axial movement of the fuel distributing shaft with respect to the driving shaft and with respect to the ignition distributer shaft. Fuel supplied to an inlet port 4 by a pump (not shown) is distributed to a number of discharge ports 9 leading to the fuel nozzles by a rotary distributer valve 3. An ignition distributer 2 is driven from the upper end of the valve 3 by means of a coupling which allows movement of the valve 3 axially relatively to the ignition distributer shaft. Axial movement of the shaft 3 varies the quantity of fuel delivered. An overflow port 5 returns excess fuel to the suction side of the fuel pump under control of a by-pass valve (not shown). If the by-pass valve which controls the pressure of the delivered fuel is connected to the fuel delivery pipe somewhere between the fuel pump and the distributer then it is possible to dispense with the outlet port 5.
