Class 131 [Also in Group XVII] A portable soap holder comprises a container of a size suitable to accommodate a tablet of soap and having a finger hole in the base to enable the soap to be raised, two opposite walls of the container being associated with limbs which depend beyond the base to grip the edge of a bath or wash basin. As shown, a rectangular container has a hinged lid 4, an arcuate base 2 apertured at 3 and extensions 1 of two opposite side walls. The free edges of the extensions are arcuate, the radius being smaller than that for the base, and may be ribbed, swaged, rolled or fitted with rubber beads. A modification is described in which the aperture in the base is closed by a transverse member slidable internally of the base or is covered by an internal member having upwardly turned end limbs which slide in channels in opposite walls or are folded back and slide on the outer faces of the walls of the container and extend beyond the container to grip the edge of the bath or wash basin.
