Abstract

715,216. Television. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BRABHAM, B. S. Jan. 21, 1953 [Jan. 25, 1952], No. 2122/52. Class 40 (3). [Also in Group XL(c)] The effects of " aeroplane flutter " in a television broadcast receiver are reduced by means of a filter 6-8 having a lower cut-off frequency of 0.1 c/s and an upper cut-off frequency between 5 c/s and the frame frequency which derives the flutter components from the video signal output and applies them to a stage in the receiver to reduce the amplitude of such components in the reproduced image. As illustrated, the components are applied to the control grids of valves in the R.F. and I.F. stages 2 in a manner similar to normal automatic gain control. In another embodiment, Fig. 1 (not shown), the components are applied to the modulator of the cathode-ray tube 3 so as to oppose the normal tube input appearing on the cathode.
