Abstract

714,544. Presses. ROMMLER GES., H., and NIEDERRHEIISCHE MASCHINENFABRIK BECKER & VAN HULLEN. July 2, 1952 [Aug. 1, 1951], No. 16633/52. Class 140 A multi layer hydraulic press for manufacturing plate-like bodies from non-flowing material under high pressure, comprises counteracting pressing member; consisting of a movable table a and a stationary transom b, a flexible heating plate f attached to each of the press members tc receive between them a layered unit consisting of a sheet of material to be pressed and a supporting sheet in each layer, and flexible pressure-equalizing means c interposed between each of the pressing members and the adjacent heating plate. As shown flexible equalizing means, e.g. rubber cushions c separated from the heating plates f by cooling plates d and insulating plates e are received in frames provided in a table a and transoms b to compensate for the unequal thickness of two shining sheets h surrounding a plate of plastic materials g undergoing compression so that an equal compression of all parts of the sheets is ensured, the heating plates f, the cooling plates d, and insulating plates e adapting themselves to the shape of the charged unit provided the material to be pressed does not flow.
