Abstract

A dental instrument, primarily for descaling animals' teeth, comprises forceps having pivoted jaws one of which is preferably made spoon-shaped to engage over the apex of the tooth while the other is sharpened appropriately for scraping. The handles are urged apart by a spring and the spoon-shaped jaw may have a central hole which will pass over the tip of a long pointed tooth. The scraping edge may be pointed, square or curved.
