Abstract

Aqueous solutions of hydrogen peroxide are stabilised by the addition of a small quantity of a pyridine carboxylic acid or an alkyl substituted derivative thereof. Quinolinic, dipicotinic, and 6-methyl picotinic acids are particularly mentioned. The acids may be used in conjunction with phosphoric acid or soluble phosphates such as sodium pyrophosphate and the tetraphosphates and hexametaphosphates of the alkali and alkaline earth metals.
