Abstract

712,658. Notice boards. CHERRY, J. D. March 19, 1953 [March 19, 1952], No. 7050/52. Class 3(2) A grill 2 comprising a plurality of longitudinal and transverse louvres 3, 4 is located within the open front of a boxlike body 1, each of the transverse louvres 4 being tilted so that its upper surface faces towards the front of the grill and all the transverse louvres 4 being divided by the longitudinal louvres 3 into a plurality of trays 5 each adapted to receive and carry a card on its upper surface. The louvres 3 are equally spaced and each is disposed in plane normal to the front of the body 1 and the louvres 4 are spaced by distances which increase progressively from top to bottom of the grill. Each of the trays 5 which make up the transverse louvres has a channel 6 on the lower edge which is arranged to support the advertising card on the upper surface of the tray. The upper edge of each tray is folded over to increase its strength. Each tray has three loops 9 projecting from its underside which are formed by displacing portions of the surface and the trays are supported by these loops on wires 10 which extend through apertures in the vertical louvres 3 and are anchored to rigid strips 11 on the outside of the outermost louvres 3 by means of tapped nipples 12. The grill is fixed to the body 1 by means of lugs 17 on the strips 11 and strips 13, 13a are connected to the top and bottom of the grill to fill the gaps between the grill and body 1. The top strip 13a is swept rearwardly and its inner surface acts as a reflector for fluorescent lamps 23 positioned in the body behind the grill. A reflector 19 is also located in the lower part of the body. Control gear 24 for the lamps is positioned below the reflector 19 and a window 27 is provided in the top of the body to illuminate an advertising panel 28.
