Classes 132(2) and 132(3) In Figs. 1, 2 a device in the form of a pistol comprises a barrel or magazine 11 which has at the foremost end a tubular member" 13 open at least at the bottom, the axis of member 13 extending approximately at right angles to the axis of the barrel 11. In use the pistol is held so that member 13 is directed vertically downward, a trigger 17 is pulled and a bolt 15 and retaining member 14 are thus drawn rearwardly. The ball in member 13 drops and the balls in the magazine are retained therein by a part 19 of the member 14. On release of the trigger the foremost ball in the magazine takes up position on the retaining part 18 ready for release by the next trigger actuation. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which one missile at a time only is held in the pistol, and in Fig. 5 (not shown) a dart or the like is held in and released from the tubular member. In a further modification the tubular member is replaced by a hole in the bottom of the barrel, control being by means of a trigger operated sleeve. An adaptor may be provided to adapt the pistol shown in Figs. 1, 2 for use with a dart. A target. Alternatively a ball target may have a single centre hole and several lateral passages into any one of which the ball may pass.
