710,937. Stencils. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Oct. 22, 1951 [Dec. 6, 1950], No. 29853/50. Class 100 (2) In a stencil plate, portions cut out completely from the plate and portions that are weakly supported by the contiguous portions of the plate are fixed in position by attaching one or more strands of wire, the diameter of which is from <SP>1</SP>/ 3 to 1¢ times the thickness of the plate, to the said portions and to the main portion of the plates. The plate may comprise oiled paper, thick waxed paper or metal sheets. The wire may be soldered to a zinc sheet, for example, or fixed to oiled paper by adhesive. The plate may comprise two thicknesses of oiled paper with the wire fixed between them, for example, wire 0.013 in. diameter, sheets each 0.014 in. thick, letters of the design 1“-1¢ in. high, or letters ¢-¥ in. high and wire 0.009 in. diameter. Zinc plates 0.02 in. thick may be used with wires 0.015 in. diameter. The paint penetrates behind the wire to produce solid letters. Specification 582,274 and U.S.A.
