Abstract
709,935. Clocks. JUNGHANS AKT.- GES., GEB. May 31, 1951, No. 12992/51. Class 139 An alarm clock of the type in which a lever mounted on the alarm hammer shaft is engageable by an alarm stopping lever and is disengaged therefrom by a winding-up movement of the alarm spring key and in which the alarm mechanism is provided with a cam controlled alarm tripping and stopping click spring, is characterized in that locking means are provided which by operation of the alarm stopping lever after alarm release, move the alarm click spring into an alarm stopping position and lock it therein and is further characterized in that the said locking means are tripped to return into their inoperative position under the action of a return spring when the click spring controlling cam fully returns the click spring to its alarm stopping position. The alarm hammer is normally locked by the end 6a, Fig. 1, of a spring member 6 controlled by a cam 4 on the arbor 2. When a pin 5 on the arbor 2 enters the slot in the cam 4 the member 6 moves to the right, Fig. 1, and the alarm operates. Depression of a button 7 causes a latch member 9. Fig. 2. to engage a projection 11a of a lever 11 secured to the alarm hammer shaft and so stops the alarm. At the same time a member 12 is rocked to move the member 6 back to the left so that its end 6a again arrests the alarm. The member 6 is retained in this position by the latching engagement between a nose 6b 'of the member 6 and a slot 12d in 'the lever 12. The pin 5 is meanwhile riding up the slope of the slot in the cam 4. The alarm may then be wound so freeing, in known manner the lever 11 from the latch member 9. When the pin 5 reaches the top of the cam and so moves it further to the left the member 6 is moved by the bush 3a of the cam to disengage the nose 6b from the notch 12d.
