Class 97(2) Also in Group XXII] A machine tool having vertically adjustable components 4, 5 comprises a level indicator 15, having a movable feeler, and a mercury container 13 on each component, the containers being interconnected by a conduit 25, 26. In a horizontal boring machine, the feelers are brought into contact with the mercury level in each container, with the assistince of electrical indicating means 20, to enable the alignment of the boring-bar slides 4, 5 to be checked.
