[Also in Groups XXIII and XXVIII] A suction grooming tool comprises a rubber handpiece shaped to fit the hollow of a hand, having a connection for a suction pipe and a rubber plate or carrier forming a base surface for the handpiece and carrying grooming tools. The rubber plate bends to the shape of the surface being groomed and improved suction is thus obtained. A rubber handpiece 8 has a suction pipe attached at 9 and has a peripheral lip 12 holding a rubber baseplate 16. Currycombs 17 are secured in the plate and are directed to allow air to enter the aperture 18. Rubber strips may be interposed between the combs. The baseplate 16 may be fixed or interchangeable with a brush 16<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4 (not shown), or a wire brush 16", Fig. 6 (not shown), the wires being held in a flexible air-filled or sponge-filled ring 21. The under surface of the handpiece may be shaped to permit the base to yield inwardly and a strap may be secured in slots at the side of the handpiece to pass across the back of the hand.
