Class 75 (1) A wick for kerosene and like burners is formed of steel wool or like material consisting of fine metal fibres or strands, which is wire-wound, wirestitched, woven, braided, or clipped to form a strong compact and flexible structure. Fig. 2 shows an annular wick formed by winding wire 2 around steel wool 1 pressed into a flat strip which is then bent into annular form. the two edges being secured if desired by clips 3. The wick may alternatively be flat or rod-like.
