Class 6 (3) In a root-crop harvester of the type wherein a pair of shares 11 feeds excavated matter to a conveyer 22, the shares have rotary discs 24 lying against their outer edges and raisable with the shares although adjustable relatively thereto. The shares are triangular in plan and have cutting edges 14 divergent at an angle of about 80 degrees. The discs 24 are carried by arms 27 pivoted to the supporting framework 16 for the shares so as to be adjustable thereon by means of pins 29 selectively engaging holes 30 in the framework. The discs, which slightly precede the shares and cut to a greater depth, may have soil-engaging lugs 32 on their outer surfaces.
