Abstract
A refractory cement contains aluminium chlorohydrate as a binder. On heating, the binder breaks down to give alumina. Specified materials treated with the binder are alumina (fused or unfused) sillimanite, zircon, zirconia, magnesia, alumino-silicates and complexes of magnesia, alumina and silica. Plasticizers may be added.
